Arsenal Lose Sanchez In Norwich Draw

Arsenal saw star player Alexis Sanchez leave the game with an injury as the Gunners drew 1-1 with Norwich City on Sunday at Carrow Road.

Arsenal took the lead in the 30th minute through Mesut Ozil who scored his second league goal of the season. Ozil is one of the best passers in the league, but he showed that he can find the back of the net as well as he beat John Ruddy inside the penalty area.

Lewis Grabban scored the equalizer for Norwich shortly before halftime with a nice finish from inside the penalty area after a good through ball by Robbie Brady.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was not pleased with the turn of events, as he lost two players to injuries. Laurent Koscielny stepped off after just 11 minutes, and Sanchez left in the second half. He also had Santi Cazorla who was noticeably struggling.

“We played against a Norwich side that was at the top level physically and focused,” Wenger told arsenal.com after the game. “They were well organized and they played every time with 10 players in their own half, and we were not incisive enough.Maybe the turning point of the game was maybe we dropped a little bit after scoring straight away and allowed them back into the game. In the second half I felt we had to dig deep to get though as we were a bit jaded and we lost players.Cazorla played on one leg and of course we played Koscielny at the start of the game so it was, I would say, a fair point for Norwich and it was on the injury front a bad afternoon for us.”

Wenger didn’t give too much info on Sanchez’s injury, but he feared that it could keep him out for a while.

“He says it is a kick on his hamstring,” Wenger said. “I fear the reality is worse than that.”

Arsenal sits in 4th place with 27 points, two points behind leaders Manchester City.
