Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew believes that together with Rudy Gastede, they save the club from getting relegated.
Villa got a 1-1 draw against West Ham United on Boxing Day after a goal by Ayew. The Ghanaian international scored his fifth goal of the season. Ayew is very pleased at how the partnership with Gastede is working and believes that the pair can save the club from getting relegated.
“Up front with Rudy, we understand each other really well,” Ayew said. “He is a very good friend of mine and is perfect for me.
“He did a great job and I am happy for him.
“He is good in the air, he keeps the ball and I have the chance to go left on the right.
“I like playing with Rudy and we need to keep it up.
“We are going to win games if we continue playing like this. We have to just keep on believing and working hard.
“I know things will change. We have two important games coming up and we have to get points.
“It is an important game and we have to get points from Norwich and keep on doing what we are doing since the second half at Newcastle and today.
“We have to get points.”
Villa sits at the bottom of the Premier League standings with just 8 points in 18 games, and are nine points from safety. Villa takes on Norwich City on the road on Monday.
