Swansea City manager Francesco Guidolin believes that his side will turn things around soon after a poor start to the season.
After winning the opening game of the season against Burnley 1-0, the Swans have suffered five losses and one draw. They suffered their third straight loss in the league on Saturday after dropping a 1-0 lead against Liverpool at the Liberty Stadium, to fall 2-1. Guidolin is convinced that, despite the poor run of results, the team will turn things around soon.
“It’s the same situation as last week against Manchester City,” Guidolin told the club’s official website.
“I think our first half was better than the last game. We deserved to be ahead and I was disappointed we did not get a second goal.
“Liverpool are a strong team, a very good team, and in the second half they played a good game.
“I think the right result would have been a draw and at the end of the game we had a very big chance to equalise, but this is the moment [we are in]. This is what can happen in football.
“You can play good games but not get good results.
“We have played against very strong teams in this period, but I am confident because I saw my team play for 95 minutes with character and also with quality in the first half.
“If we play this way, I think we can turn our situation around soon. My team is a good team. I am sure we have the qualities to have a good future.”
