Hummels: ‘This World Is F**ked Up’

The German national team is back in Germany after playing in Paris on Friday as the terrorist attacks took place around the city.

The world is in shock as Paris was hit by terrorist attacks on Friday night. Germany was playing France in an international friendly at Stade de France when the attacks took place. You could here explosives go off near the stadium during the game.

German defender Mats Hummels tweeted the following on Saturday: “Back in [Germany] unbelievable what happened last night. This world is fucked up right now. My thoughts are with those who lost someone they love.”

German national team coach Joachim Low told The Daily Mail that the team was scared prior to the game after they had to evacuate from their hotel after bomb threat.

“We are all in shock,” Low said. “The game and the goals move into the background on a day like this.

“We were told in the changing rooms what had happened. All of us on the bench were a bit scared because of a bomb threat earlier today when we spent three hours outside (our hotel).

“We’re all shaken and shocked. For me personally, the game and the sport loses importance. We’re at a loss. We don’t know what to do.”

Germany are scheduled to play Holland in a friendly on Tuesday, but the game might end up getting cancelled.

German FA president Reinhard Rauball said that they will make a final decision regarding that game on Sunday.

“We will now sleep over it and then see how things we will approach things for Tuesday or not,” Rauball told reporters the German national team landed in Frankfurt.

“But my opinion is that we should not yield to terror.”

Team manager Oliver Bierhoff added: “We are now just happy to have landed back safely.

“The squad and the entire team and staff were highly professional in dealing with this special situation.”
