Leicester City has gotten off to an incredible start to the 2015/2016 campaign, sitting in 3rd place in the Premier League table after 11 games.
The Foxes has accumulated 22 points in 11 games. Last season it took Leicester until March to reach that many points. New manager Claudio Ranieri is praising the atmosphere around the club.
“I have a very good feeling, not just with the strikers or [Jamie] Vardy, I feel very good in Leicester with the Club, the Chairman, the family of the Chairman, the staff, the players, all our fans – it’s fantastic. There’s a good electricity,” Ranieri told lcfc.com. “I’m a very lucky man to have come here.”
After going on an incredible run towards the end of last season under former manager Nigel Pearson, the Foxes avoided relegation despite sitting in the relegation zone for better part of the season. The sense of optimism carried over the summer as the team picked up right where they left off despite being tipped by many to struggle this season.
One major part of the success has been the goal-scoring form of forward Jamie Vardy. The 28-year-old striker leads the Premier League in scoring with 11 goals in 11 games.
“Jamie is a very good player that works hard for the team,” Ranieri said. “If he scores goals as part of his job, I’m very happy with him. He’s in good condition now, everything he makes is good and that’s important for his career.
“Every striker is different and Jamie is different too. He had to wait to start his career because he came from non-league, but it’s not too late for him to arrive at a high level.”
