Crystal Palace has been a positive surprise this season, sitting in 7th place after 10 games. Now they look to upset Manchester United on Saturday.
Palace has played some very entertaining soccer to start the Premier League season, that includes a solid win over Chelsea on the road. They now look for another big win this weekend as they host Manchester United.
“The boys are hurting after successive defeats; it’s never nice to lose games especially back-to-back, so we’re trying to put things right,” captain Mile Jedinak told cpfc.co.uk ahead of Saturday’s game.
“For us it’s all about trying to stay in a positive state of mind in order to get back to winning ways, and we’ve done that already this season when the boys showed a lot of character. We know we’re going to go through sticky periods and it’s up to us as a group to overcome it.
“We need to stick with what we’re doing and hopefully that will help us get over this spell, and when you look at this group you’d have to say it will happen again.
“We’ve been unlucky at some moments in the past few games and that seems to happen when things aren’t going our way. We know we’ve got our work cut out but we’ll try to rectify the results from the last couple of weeks, starting today.”
Jedinak also spoke about his way to regain full match-fitness.
“From a personal point of view it was good to take to the field against West Ham and Leicester from the bench but it was also great for me to get a full 90 minutes under my belt against Manchester City on Wednesday night. Obviously it wasn’t the result we wanted but I was happy to come through that unscathed. I’m beginning to build towards a run of games and hopefully I’ll have more opportunities in the future.”
