We are in the homestretch of the transfer window. The clubs have a week to make the final touches to their squads. AC Milan has brought back Mario Balotelli on loan and Sunderland are on the hunt for a striker. Here are some of the latest transfers and rumors from the world of soccer.
AC Milan has made a deal for Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli. The Italian striker is heading back to Milan on a season-long loan deal. Balotelli left Milan last summer for Liverpool for £16 million. After only scoring once in 16 league games for the Reds, he heads back to Milan. It’s a great deal for Milan as they didn’t have to pay a loan fee for Balotelli, and only have to pay half of his salary.
Balotelli cleared the medical exams on Tuesday and had his first training session with his old club later in the day. Balotelli was being shunned by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers and was banned from training with the first team.
Sunderland’s start to the Premier League season has been pretty abysmal. The team has been extremely poor and lost big in the two opening games. They did however managed to salvage a point against Swansea over the weekend. Rumors are that they are interested in Swedish striker Ola Toivonen to bolster the offense. The Daily Mirror reports that manager Dick Advocaat is interested in bringing in Toivonen as he had the payer during his time at PSV Eindhoven.
Toivonen has spent the last season and a half at French club Rennes. He has 43 caps for the Swedish national team.
Juventus has officially signed Chelsea midfielder Juan Cuadrado to a season-long loan. The 27-year-old Colombian international came to Chelsea in the January transfer window from Italian club Fiorentina, but was a big failure at Stamford Bridge. Cuadrado only made four starts for Chelsea, and is now back in Italy.

Former Liverpool player John Arne Riise is the latest player to sign in the Indian Super League. The 34-year-old Norwegian has signed a deal with Delhi Dynamos FC, who has former Chelsea man Florent Malouda and player coach Roberto Carlos.
Riise has spent the past season with APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus, but is most known for his seven seasons with Liverpool. After leaving Liverpool in 2008, he spent time with AS Roma and Fulham before signing for APOEL last summer. The Indian Super League kicks off in October. In addition to Riise Malouda and Carlos, the league has several big name veterans like Nicolas Anelka, Adrian Mutu and Lucio.

German side TSG Hoffenheim has signed Eduardo Vargas from Napoli. The 25-year-old Chilean international has signed a four-year deal with Hoffenheim. Vargas spent last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers and scored four goals in 21 league games as QPR got relegated from the Premier League. He also had loan spells at Valencia and Gremio during his time at Napoli and last played a game for the Italians during the 2012/2013 season.
Vargas was part of the Chilean national team that won the 2015 Copa America in Chile during the summer, and the winger/forward has 22 goals in 43 caps for Chile. He was joint top scorer of the tournament with four goals and was selected for the Team of the Tournament.

The Liverpool Echo reports that Fabio Borini could be heading back to Italy on a loan spell with Inter Milan. The 24-year-old striker has been deemed unwanted by manager Brendan Rodgers and has been banned from training with the first team. Liverpool loaned out Mario Balotelli to AC Milan and Borini is said to be on his way to the cross-town rivals.
Borini made 18 appearances for Liverpool last season in all competition, but only managed to find the back of the net once. Borini has played in the Serie before, representing Parma and AS Roma.
