Tottenham – Arsenal (Premier League Gameweek 24)

SOCCER: SEP 16 Champions League - Arsenal at Borussia Dortmund

The weekend kicks off early on Saturday with a heated London derby between the Spurs and the Gunners. Arsenal are riding a five-game winning-streak that includes a 5-0 trashing of Aston Villa last Sunday. Tottenham on the other hand, have been a little bit inconsistent of late, and you have to go back to Jan 21 to find the Spurs’ last victory which was a 1-0 game over Sheffield United in the Capital One Cup. The last meeting between the tow sides ended in a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium in late September, with goals by Nacer Chadil for Tottenham and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for the Gunners. This is the 156th meeting in league play between the clubs with Arsenal winning 64, Tottenham 49 and 42 games ending in a draw.

The teams are neck and neck in the table, with Arsenal in the fifth spot with 42 points and Tottenham in sixth with 40 points.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the leading goalscorer in La Liga with 28 goals, six ahead of Lionel Messi, and 17 goals ahead of Antoine Greizmann who’s Atletico’s top scorer. Atletico is enjoying a four-game unbeaten streak against the Meringues, but look to Ronaldo and the rest of the Real squad to be extra fired up for this meeting as they look to keep Barcelona at bay at the top of the table.
