It’s official. Carlos Tevez is returning to Argentina and Boca Juniors after nine years in Europe. The 31-year-old striker has been a prolific scorer ever since breaking onto the scene with Boca Juniors back in 2004.
Tevez scored 20 goals for Juventus in the Serie A, as Juve grabbed another league title. He has represented teams like Manchester United and Manchester City in addition to his successful spell at Juventus, but he is now heading back to where it all began.
He’s been known to have had homesickness during his time in Europe, so rumors about Tevez moving back to Argentina have been a constant for many years.

Newcastle is on the hunt to land Florian Thauvin, 22, from Marseille according to the Daily Star. The speedy winger has played for Marseille since 2013 and has represented France at the U-21 level. Thauvin had five goals and eight assists in 35 appearances for Marseille in the French Ligue 1 this past season. Newcastle already has a slew of French players, so their are plenty of people that would be able to help with the adjustment to life in northern England.
Leicester City pulled off the comeback of the year last season as they managed to stay up in the Premier League after winning seven out of their last nine games. In order to not put themselves in that position again this coming season, they have signed Japanese striker Shinji Okazaki from FSV Mainz. Okazaki, 29, scored 12 goals for Mainz in the German Bundesliga last season and he’s the third signing the Foxes has made this summer. The signing was confirmed on Leicester City’s website. Christian Fuchs and Robert Huth are also new to the team.
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City is on the verge of buying Fabian Delph, 25, from Aston Villa. City needs players that are “homegrown” as you need a certain number in the squad, so Delph would be a good option as he had a strong showing in midfield for Villa this season, and has become a permanent fixture in the English national team. City are still interested in Juventus’ Paul Pogba, but Delph is a player that would be a good second option, and a lot cheaper.
West Ham has signed Dimitri Payet from Marseille. The 28-year-old French international is set to play for his first club outside of France. He has played for Nantes, Saint-Etienne, Lille, and Marseille. Last season he scored seven goals and had 17 assists for Marseille in Ligue 1. West Ham had a promising start last season in the Premier League, but dropped off significantly in the second half of the season. Payet can play on both wings and as a central attacking midfielder, so he’s sure to be in the starting lineup as next season gets under way.
Dimitri Payet, welcome and good luck from all Hammers fans. dg

Several Italian outlets, including La Gazzetta Dello Sport, reports that AC Milan is about to sign Carlos Bacca. The Colombian striker played last season for Sevilla in the Spanish La Liga and represented Colombia at the Copa America in Chile.
He scored 20 league goals for Sevilla last season, and will be a much-needed boost for Milan as they finished in 10th place in the Serie A. Milan is a shell of its former self and will need to make several additions to the squad if they are going to make it back to the top of Italian soccer and the European cups.
