Another summer filled with transfer rumors in the world of soccer. Silly Season is the perfect fix for all soccer junkies during the time most of the European leagues are on break. Here are some of the latest signings and rumors.
Manchester United are preparing a bid for Tottenham’s Harry Kane worth around $62 million according to the Daily Mirror. The striker had a breakthrough season with the Spurs, scoring 21 Premier League goals. It’s unsure if Tottenham are willing to part with Kane as they just signed him to a contract extension earlier in the year. United are also rumored to be interest in Tottenham’s French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
Carlos Tevez could be leaving Juventus in the near future according to Argentinian site argnoticias.com. Tevez, 31, is said to be on his way back to Boca Juniors, the club where he started his professional career. He scored 26 goals in 75 appearances for the Blue and Gold during his three years with the club. Tevez scored 20 league goals for Juventus in the Serie A this season.
It’s been a done deal for quite a while, but on Friday it was officially announced that Memphis Depay, 21, is now a member of Manchester United. The Dutch winger has signed a four-year deal and was presented to the media by manager Louis van Gaal. Depay scored 22 goals for PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch league this season.

Manchester City is on the hunt for Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling. After Liverpool reportedly rejected the first bid on Sterling worth around $46 million, the Daily Mirror now reports that City has upped the bid to around $62 million. Sterling has so far declined the contract extension offer from Liverpool and is demanding more salary. Interesting to see if this new bid can get Liverpool to let go of their English national team winger.
The Daily Mirror also reports that Inter Milan has put a bid on Manchester United’s Mexican striker Javier Hernandez. Hernandez spent the season on loan at Real Madrid, but they opted to not use their buy clause and Hernandez is now back in Manchester. It’s no surprise that he’s available as manager Louis van Gaal hasn’t made any indications that Hernandez is a part of his plans next season. Inter’s bid is rumored to be around $12 million, but United wants closer to $15 million for their 27-year-old striker.
Italian Sky Sports are reporting that Inter Milan is interested to pick up the fight with AC Milan for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Inter manager Roberto Mancini told Sky Sports that we like to see him back with Inter. The Paris Saint-Germain striker has previously played for both clubs and is rumored to not be untouchable anymore in Paris. The 33-year-old Swedish striker scored 19 goals in 24 appearances for PSG in the French Ligue 1 this season as PSG won its third straight French championship.
Robbie Keane has signed a new deal with the LA Galaxy, the team reported Wednesday. The Irish national team captain has scored 55 goals in 91 appearances. The terms of the contract were not disclosed, but head coach/general manager Bruce Arena had some high praise for his top striker.
“We’re very pleased Robbie will continue to be a member of the Galaxy in the coming years,” said LA Galaxy Head Coach and General Manager Bruce Arena. “He has been one of the key pieces in our success over the past five seasons. We look forward to even more success with Robbie as a member of our team.”
The Galaxy will now be able to field Keane and new signing Steven Gerrard, two players that have a wealth of Premier League experience.
