David Beckham has revealed that he would love bring Zlatan Ibrahimovic to MLS when he gets the team in Miami underway.
Beckham, 40, has secured a spot for the arena in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood and the franchise has been given the green light by the league. So with that in place, the speculation over which stars could sign with Miami can begin. One player that would be on Beckham’s radar is Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The pair has played together and for Beckham it would be a given to sign the Swede if he’s still active.
“We have received permission to build an arena and it will take three years … maybe two, at best,’ Beckham told Sportbladet. “If Ibrahimovic is still active, then I want to buy him right away. He is a physically magnificent specimen, so it’s entirely possible. Who does not want a man who is prepared to kill to win?”
The pair played together at Paris Saint-Germain, and Beckham said he’s a big fan of the Swede.
“I’ve played with or against the very best in the world,” Beckham said. “I want to say that I have never met anyone who was so serious during both practice and games. When I came to Paris I knew that he was an incomparable talent as a player, but he’d be so tough and merciless on himself at all times, I had no idea.
“He is a born winner. He is a beast with huge self confidence, and I’m one of his biggest admirers.”
