David De Gea could be making his return to the Manchester United lineup soon as he’s been registered in United’s Champions League squad.
De Gea’s move from United to Real Madrid fell apart in the dying seconds of the Spanish transfer window. Both clubs blame each other for the failure, but as things stands, De Gea will stay in Manchester.
Manager Louis van Gaal has not been including De Gea in the lineup during the opening of the season as he felt that De Gea wasn’t mentally fit to play while the transfer window was still open and all the rumors surrounding the 24-year-old goalkeeper was plastered on the front page of every newspaper in England and Spain.
But that could all change now that the transfer window has shut. Van Gaal named De Gea in United’s Champions League squad. United were drawn in the same group as PSV Eindhoven, CSKA Moscow and Wolfsburg. United takes on PSV in the opening group stage game on Sept. 15.
