Bayern Munich has made another signing, and it’s a big one.
Douglas Costa represented Brazil in the Copa America in Chile. The Brazilians got knocked out in the quarterfinal stage on penalties by Paraguay, but Douglas Costa had a good tournament and scored the winner for Brazil against Peru. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder is now heading to Germany and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. Costa had spent the last five years in Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukrainian league.

Liverpool has made another signing as Nathaniel Clyne is leaving Southampton for Liverpool. The 24-year-old right back had a really good season last year and has become an English international. There no details yet on how long the contract is, more than that it is a multi-year deal.

Stoke has signed Matej Vydra from Udinese. The 23-year-old striker has spent two seasons on loan at Watford and is now a permanent member of the squad as they head up to the Premier League. An interesting fact here is that Watford and Udinese have the same owner in the Pozzo family. The family also owns Spanish club Granada. Udinese has always been the man club for the Pozzos, but with Watford promoted to the Premier League and the vast amount of money that entails, we should see a shift here in the priority totempole.

More Stoke news. SkySports reports that the Premier League side is in the process of signing Sherdan Shaqiri from Inter Milan. Shaqiri came to Inter from Bayern Munich in January, but the 23-year-old Swiss international failed to make an impact in Milano. Stoke manager Mark Hughes is said to be a big fan of Shaqiri, and he did show during his time with Bayern that he’s a very skilled player. The price for Shaqiri is believed to be just under $19 million.
One player that has already left Inter is Serbian international Zdravko Kuzmanovic. The 27-year-old midfielder is returning to Swiss club FC Basel, which he represented between 2005 – 2007. Since leaving Basel, Kuzmanovic played for Fiorentina, Stuttgart and Inter. Basel has won the Swiss league six seasons in a row, and Kuzmanovic will be a welcomed addition as they look to win another league title and play in the Champions League.

Inter is not just letting players go. They have signed Brazilian defender Miranda from Atletico Madrid. Miranda represented Brazil at the Copa America, and won the Spanish La Liga with Atletico in 2013/2014. Inter has a lot of work to do as they try to improve on a poor 8th-place finish in Serie A last season. Miranda, 30, is a great addition to Inter’s defense as he brings a lot of experience combined with a high level of play. Inter confirmed the signing on its website on Wednesday. Miranda has 21 caps for the Brazilian national team.
Seattle Sounders has signed Swedish midfielder Erik Friberg. Friberg is doing his second spell with the MLS side as he played for the Sounders in 2011. Since leaving Seattle, Friberg has played for Malmo FF in Sweden, Bologna in Serie A, and Esbjerg in Denmark. Sounders FC Sporting Director Chris Henderson had some good things to say about Friberg on the Sounders’ website.
“Erik is a smart tactical player and has the ability to put players out of the game with his forward passing,” said Henderson. “He won a U.S. Open Cup Championship with our organization, and after leaving Seattle he played in three strong European leagues. We are happy to add his leadership to the group.”
